Wipro, Accenture, Tech Mahindra start virtual on-boarding of recruits amid lockdown – As COVID-19 outbreak has disrupted businesses across the planet, large IT companies aren’t ready to honor the work offers they need already made but some companies like Tech Mahindra, Wipro and Accenture have decided to honor offers made to new hires, the Economic Times mentioned during a report and have already started on-boarding of recruits virtually. These recruits include both experienced also as fresh graduates.

Worth mentioning here is that the IT sector is one of the most important employers in India with 45 lakh people employed in several IT companies across the country. This sector hires nearly 20,000 people monthly. consistent with Nasscom, the industry hired 205,000 new employees in FY20.

“Accenture in India is honoring all offers made thus far, and associated benefits are effective from the date of joining,” the publication quoted Lakshmi C, director, and lead, human resources, Accenture India as saying.

Accenture is one of the most important employers within the IT sector, hiring a mean of about 2,500 people monthly in India within the last one year. the corporate has currently about 200,000 people in India.

The current scenarios are a critical concern for businesses globally with lateral recruits and management trainees, as Corona outbreak continues to be and all the offer letters issued are going to be respected, Tech Mahindra chief people officer Harshvendra Soin told the business daily.

Similarly, Wipro has confirmed that it’ll honor all offer letters made to candidates.

Companies are requesting the person to remain put while some companies are honouring the offer commitments, while there are others who are either deferring the joining date or within the current jobs with a month’s salary, Kamal Karanth, co-founder, Xpheno told the publication.
