WhatsApp update: Meta introduces Screen Share feature

WhatsApp update

WhatsApp update – Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg stated on Tuesday that WhatsApp has added a cutting-edge feature that allows users to share their displays during video conversations, a capability that is already available on platforms such as Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams.

The service emphasized in an official news release that this capability is easily available through the “Share” icon, allowing users to choose between screen sharing their full display or a specific program. In addition, a planned landscape mode for mobile video calls has been announced.

Meta’s press release highlighted the diverse applications of this feature, including collaborative document sharing for work, reminiscing over family photos, jointly planning vacations, group online shopping, and providing tech support to grandparents.

This feature is part of a series of enhancements that WhatsApp has released this year, including the incorporation of video notes and polls. These improvements are intended to keep WhatsApp competitive in the face of increased competition from chat apps like Telegram, Signal, and possibly Discord.

Furthermore, WhatsApp is releasing a landscape layout for mobile video conversations, with the goal of providing users with a more broader and immersive viewing and sharing experience. This move is consistent with WhatsApp’s continuous efforts to provide its worldwide user base with more robust and flexible communication alternatives.
