The Citizen-Integrity Pledge kicked off Vigilance Awareness Week 2023 at Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) today. Chief Guest Shri Manoj Kumar, CMD, WCL, delivered the Civic-Integrity Oath to employees during the Vigilance Awareness Week program held at WCL Headquarters.
Shri J. P. Dwivedi, Director Technical (Planning and Project), Shri A. K. Singh, and Chief Vigilance Officer Shri Ajay Madhukar Mhetre were all present on this occasion.
In his welcome address, Chief Vigilance Officer Shri Ajay Madhukar Mhetre detailed the different programs planned for Vigilance Awareness Week 2023. He stated that the WCO’s key principles are integrity, transparency, and honesty, and that the Vigilance Department is constantly working to enhance these.
According to him, a 3-month special vigilance campaign is being run in WCL from August 16 to November 15, 2023, under which work on awareness regarding public interest disclosure and security resolution of informants, capacity building, systemic reforms, and so on is continuing.

He stated that by maintaining transparency and honesty in the company’s everyday operations, we not only perform the work according to the rules, but also fulfill our commitment to the nation. He urged everyone to approach their profession with awareness, using preventive vigilance concepts.
On this occasion, the guests unveiled a stand dedicated to the ‘Public Interest Disclosure and Protection of Informants Pledge (PIDPI)’ and released a compilation on the same subject.
Honorable President Smt. Draupadi Murmu, Honorable Vice President Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar, and Central Vigilance Commission General Managers Shri Deepak Revatkar, MK Baluka, and S. Of. Batra delivered the message received on the important occasion.
Mrs. Anupama Tembhurnikar, Senior Manager (Personnel), gave the vote of gratitude at the end of the event. The celebration drew a big crowd of department heads, senior executives, and employees. Team Wekoli members from all walks of life also participated in big numbers via live YouTube broadcasts.
It is worth noting that various programs and activities will be held throughout the week at the corporate headquarters and surrounding locations.
