Suzlon Energy bags order for 14 wind turbines; stock stays in the red

Suzlon Energy

Sulzon Energy shares recovered slightly in Friday’s session after the wind turbine manufacturer announced a contract for the creation of a 29.4 MW wind installed capacity for BrightNight’s 100 MW colocated windsolar hybrid project. The leading domestic renewable energy solutions supplier announced plans to deploy 14 units of S120 – 140m wind turbine generators (WTGs) with a Hybrid Lattice Tubular (HLT) tower and a rated capacity of 2.1 MW apiece in Maharashtra’s Osmanabad.

The stock remained unaffected. On the BSE, it was trading at Rs 25.31 per share, down 0.71 percent. The stock has gained 21% in the previous month and 136% year to date.

According to Sulzon Energy, the project will be completed in stages commencing in April 2024. The project will be carried out by the company and will include supply, installation, and commissioning.  Suzlon Energy would also provide postcommissioning operation and maintenance services.

Suzlon claims that each of its turbines contains more than 80% domestic content and is manufactured in the country via a domestic value chain.  Suzlon claims that its turbines use the timetested Doubly Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) technology, which integrates wind turbines into the utility network to meet grid requirements.

“We are delighted to partner with Suzlon, a leading renewable energy solutions provider with reliable technology and a great track record in India,” said BrightNight CEO Sajay K V. Suzlon’s dedication to ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ is shown in their ‘Made in India’ goods, which support our initiatives.”
