Steel Minister expresses his concern over the non-operationalization of certain mines

A meeting was taken by the Union Steel Minister Shri Ram Chandra Prasad Singh here today where Chairman Steel Authority of India Ltd. (SAIL), CMD of National Mineral Development Corporation Ltd. (NMDC), CMD of Manganese Ore India Ltd.(MOIL) and officials of the Ministry of Steel and Ministry of Mines were available.

The fundamental issues for example the situation with offer of iron metal by SAIL and the situation with non-working leases/mines of Steel PSUs have been examined during the meeting.

The Union Steel Minister Shri Ram Chandra Prasad Singh communicated his anxiety over the non-operationalization of specific mines and guided the concerned CPSEs to finish the guide for beginning the mining activities in these non-working leases/mines. HSM coordinated that the CPSEs ought to speed up the administrative compliances required inside the current structure of Government rules to try not to slip by of the leases/mines. The CPSEs have been coordinated to present a status report at the soonest.
