SJVN Shakti Sadan gets Four Star GRIHA Ratings

SHIMLA: According to Sh. Nand Lal Sharma, Chairman & Managing Director, SJVN, “Shakti Sadan,” the company’s corporate headquarters, has received a “GRIHA” Council “Four Star” rating for its environmental friendliness. He added that SJVN Shakti Sadan is the first building in the state of Himachal Pradesh to receive this certification, making it a source of pride for every SJVNite. 
 
The Chairman and Managing Director, Sh. Nand Lal Sharma, also informed the audience that the Shakti Sadan was built using the green building concept. The building has a built-up area of 15200 square metres and more than 500 employees can work there. It also has many distinctive features, such as a 100 KW solar energy system and a 40 KW solar water heating system.

Additionally, the structure contains a sewerage treatment plant that can recycle 90,000 litres of effluent. The office complex also contains a composting machine with a daily capacity of 250 kg for the management of solid organic waste and a 50,000-liter rainwater storage system for water conservation.
