Sensodyne IDA Shining Star Scholarship for dental students by Haleon India

Haleon India – Today, at the Oral Health Innovation Conclave (OHIC) in Delhi, 143 meritorious students from underprivileged communities from 21 states and 130+ cities were awarded the ‘Sensodyne IDA Shining Star Scholarship’ to pursue Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS).

OHIC is a first-of-its-kind national event organized by the Indian Dental Association (IDA) that focuses on oral healthcare innovations, entrepreneurship, and research. The scholarship program for BDS students is a CSR initiative of Haleon India (formerly GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare) that aligns with the company’s mission of “delivering better everyday health with humanjourne

More than INR 6 crores will be distributed among these 143 students as part of this program to support their academic and living expenses during their four-year BDS program. Each of these students will receive INR 1,05,000 in financial aid per year for the duration of their BDS program.

Haleon India launched this program in collaboration with IDA with the goal of assisting underprivileged and exceptional dental students in realizing their dreams.

In July 2022, Buddy4Study (B42), an NGO, will be established. It is a step toward addressing disparities in the dentist-to-population ratio. After over 2000 applicants registered, IDA and B4S began the selection process to shortlist the 143 deserving students.
