Reliance Jio launches JioMotive to turn normal car to ‘smart car’ at Rs 4,999: Check features, other details

Reliance Jio has introduced JioMotive, a device that can transform ordinary automobiles into smart vehicles. The device, which costs Rs 4,999, includes capabilities such as location monitoring and theft warnings. This is expected to give a connected-car experience even in vehicles lacking expensive amenities.

Many new and pricey vehicles have internet access. The new JioMotive OBD adapter provides access to the same functionality. This innovative device can provide information on their car’s performance, such as location, engine health, and driving performance. This new technology will benefit owners of earlier cars as well as base model new automobiles.

JioMotive is a plug-and-play device that requires no professional installation. Users may get started by downloading and installing the JioThings App from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store, signing up with their Jio number, and following these steps.

  1. Get the JioThings app from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store and install it.
  2. Sign in or register for JioThings using your Jio Number. Select JioMotive by clicking the “+” button.
  1. Enter the IMEI number from the Jiomotive Box or the device itself and press the “Proceed” button.
  2. Enter your automobile information, such as the registration number, car name (create a name for your car), vehicle make, model, fuel type, and year of manufacture, and then click “Save.”
  1. Connect the JioMotive Device to your vehicle’s OBD Port. Turn on your car while the next actions are taken. Make sure your car is parked in an open area with a solid Jio network.
  2. Tick the box that says you accept to the JioEverywhereConnect Number Sharing Plan terms and conditions and then click “Enable.”
  3. On the next screen, click “Proceed” after selecting “JioJCR1440”.

It has an e-SIM, which shares data with the user’s existing mobile data plan, removing the need for a separate SIM card or data plan. The device also includes Geo-Fencing and Time Fence functions, which transmit notifications when the vehicle passes predetermined limits or is turned on during specific time periods.

JioMotive also offers information about the vehicle’s health, such as battery health, engine load, coolant temperature, and air intake temperature. It also gives customers access to over 200+ Engine Diagnostic Codes, allowing them to better understand and maintain the operation of their car.
