Qualcomm has named Savi Soin as the company’s new President of Qualcomm India. Soin has over two decades of experience at Qualcomm, including a decade on the senior leadership team. He will report directly to Jim Cathey, Chief Commercial Officer of Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. (QCT), as President of Qualcomm India.
Soin will be responsible for executing Qualcomm’s India strategy, cultivating relationships with industry partners, and collaborating with the Government of India in a variety of sectors, including mobile, automotive, semiconductor, industrial & IoT, and communication infrastructure.
Soin was previously the team leader for Global Strategic Partnerships and Business Incubation. He was also the head of Strategy and Business Development of Qualcomm Technologies’ semiconductor division, where he was instrumental in developing and executing Qualcomm’s strategy.
Qualcomm India
Rajen Vagadia, who has been President of Qualcomm India for the previous five years, will go to Qualcomm’s headquarters in San Diego. As Vice President, he will oversee Global Distribution and Global Carrier Strategy. Qualcomm technology achieved key milestones in India during Vagadia’s leadership, becoming a pioneer in wireless technology and creating critical collaborations for the country’s 4G and 5G deployment.
Jim Cathey, Qualcomm’s Chief commercial Officer, expressed gratitude for Rajen Vagadia’s leadership and support to the company’s success in India. He stated that India is still a priority market for Qualcomm and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to investing in the nation.

Savi Soin, Qualcomm India’s recently appointed President, expressed his excitement about returning to his home country. Because of its size and resources, he sees India as a vital role in pushing global digital transformation. Soin’s goal is to collaborate with the Indian ecosystem and harness Qualcomm’s technological advances to drive this change across multiple industries.
