New Delhi: SAIL to set up additional 2500 beds with use of gaseous oxygen facilities – Responding to the call of Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi and under the direction of Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Hon’ble Union Minister of P and NG and Steel, Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) is intending to set up gigantic medical facilities of around 2500 beds with the help of vaporous oxygen (GOX) for Covid treatment SAIL coordinated locations in Bokaro (Jharkhand), Rourkela (Odisha), Bhilai (Chattisgarh), Burnpur, Durgapur (West Bengal).
These enormous facilities are being arranged external the current emergency medical facilities and will have oxygen support through a dedicated gas line drawn straightforwardly from the steel plants as opposed to removing vaporous oxygen from fluid clinical oxygen as is being done in the own clinics of SAIL as of now. At the idea of the Government of India, SAIL will utilize Gaseous Oxygen straightforwardly as an extra product of oxygen as the interest for fluid medical oxygen is high presently.
These 2500 nos. of beds will be created in a staged way in a joint effort with the separate state governments. In the main stage, the organization will set up around 700 beds which will be increased to 2500 beds across each of the five areas.
Presently, there are around 3000 beds in the five SAIL medical clinics and about 45% of beds have been reserved for COVID patients.
