ONGC-Tripura received clearance from Centre for setting up its 3rd plant
New Delhi: ONGC-Tripura received clearance from Centre for setting up its 3rd plant – ONGC-Tripura public utility (OTPC), a gas-based electricity generation entity within the northeastern region, has received environmental clearance from the Centre for putting in place its third plant, an official mentioned on Friday.
The biggest gas-based public utility within the region presently has 2 facilities with a complete capability of 726 MW at Palatana in Tripura’s Gomati district.
The third unit can have an influence generation capability of 363 MW, OTPC director SC Namboodiripad.
“We need 1.5 million cubic metres per day of gas and area unit in talks with ONGC NSE 2.15 % for allocation and evaluation of the resource. we tend to area unit optimistic regarding the project and have received environmental clearance from the Centre,” he said, has achieved a revenue of over Rs 150 crores within the 2020-21 FY, Namboodiripad, confirmed.
ONGC alongside Infrastructure Leasing and Monetary Services Ltd (IL&FS) and also the Tripura government had shaped the special purpose vehicle by getting in a shareholders’ agreement in 2008.
The Centre has allotted quite fifty-eight percent of power from the project to the northeastern states -Assam (240 MW), Tripura (196 MW), Meghalaya (79 MW), province (42 MW), Nagaland (27 MW), Arunachal Pradesh, and Mizoram (22 MW each), and 98 MW is assigned to OTPC for sales, the official reported.
