India’s First Public Sector Refinery completes 60 year

Public Sector Refinery – In recognition of significant achievements in India’s oil and gas industry, the Union Minister for Housing, Urban Affairs, and Petroleum and Natural Gas is in New Delhi today for a special ceremony. 
 
The nation’s first public sector refinery, Guwahati Refinery, which has been in operation since 1962, turned 60 today, and Bongaigaon Refinery will turn 50 in 2022. 
 
Along with Minister of State Rameswar Teli, the minister released two coffee table books and postal stamps on this occasion. 
 
Ten cutting-edge refineries have grown out of the bouquet of high-tech refineries that were born in Guwahati 60 years ago, according to Minister Hardeep Singh. 
 
This is a chance to remember and pay tribute to the pioneers who sacrificed their lives and inspired us to be successful in the industrialization process, the speaker added.
