PTC India and NHPC ink MoU for Power sale

New Delhi: At the NHPC Corporate Office in Faridabad, PTC India Limited and NHPC sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the sale of electricity produced by the forthcoming West Seti and Seti River-6 Projects in Nepal. 
 
Shri A.K. Singh, CMD of NHPC, and Dr. Rajib K. Mishra, CMD of PTC India Limited signed the MoU. On this occasion, representatives from PTC India, NHPC, Shri R.P. Goyal, Director of Finance, Shri Biswajit Basu, Director of Projects, Shri V.R. Shrivastava, Executive Director of SBD&C, and Shri Harish Saran, Executive Director of Commercial & Operations, were also present.

According to the MoU, PTC India is required to buy the contracted capacity from NHPC as soon as the aforementioned projects begin to operate commercially in order to sell it to state utilities, discoms, and bulk consumers in India and its surrounding countries in the future. PTC India will also make an effort to sell any unbound capacity on power exchanges or for a medium- to short-term period of time.
