PGCIL wins Global Gold Award

The Green Organization has bestowed the Global Gold Award on Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (PGCIL), a Maharatna CPSU of the Ministry of Power, Government of India.

The award was presented yesterday at the Green World Awards 2023 ceremony in Miami, Florida. Dr. V. K. Singh, Director (Personnel), POWERGRID accepted the award on the organization’s behalf.

The award recognizes POWERGRID’s CSR efforts to improve agriculture productivity and rural livelihoods in 10 villages of Odisha’s Jaipatna Block, Kalahandi District, via watershed management, community engagement, and better crop management methods.


This is a 60-month farmer-focused initiative that began in late October 2019 and has a withdrawal strategy in place to assure its sustainability. POWERGRID promotes its involvement in a variety of CSR projects for the community and the environment.

With a well-defined and personalized Exit Policy for its CSR initiatives, POWERGRID prioritizes Community Participation through effective Collaboration, Capacity Building, and Sustainability in accordance with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
