PGCIL bags Global Gold Award for their CSR efforts

PGCIL wins Global Gold Award

Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (PGCIL), a Maharatna CPSU of the Indian Ministry of Power, has received the Global Gold Award from the Green Organization. The honor was awarded during the Green World Awards 2023 event in Miami, Florida. Dr VK Singh, Director (Personnel), POWERGRID, accepted the award on behalf of the firm. The recognition of POWERGRID’s CSR initiative to improve agricultural output and rural livelihood in 10 villages in Odisha’s Jaipatna Block of Kalahandi District via better crop management practices, community engagement, and watershed management.

This 60-month project focused on farmers was begun in late October 2019 and includes a withdrawal plan to ensure its sustainability. POWERGRID emphasizes its involvement in a variety of CSR projects for the environment and community. In accordance with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, Power Grid prioritizes community engagement via effective cooperation, capacity building, and sustainability. For its CSR projects, Power Grid has a well-defined and customized Exit Policy.
