PFC became 1st member from India to join Asia Transition Finance Study Group

Power Finance Corporation announced its participation in the “Asia Transition Finance

Study Group” (ATFSG) during a bilateral ministerial meeting on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Goa between Hon’ble Minister of Power and New and Renewable Energy Mr. R. K. Singh and His Excellency Mr. Yasutoshi Nishimura, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, Government of Japan. Mr. B.S. Bhalla, Secretary (MNRE), Mr. Ajay Tewari, Additional Secretary (Power), Mrs. Parminder Chopra, CMD (Addl. Charge), PFC, and Senior Officials from both countries were in attendance.   

PFC is India’s first member of the ATFSG. This is a Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry (METI) project to promote sustainable transition finance for Asian countries. 

Asia Transition Finance

PFC was the first Indian company to join the Asia Transition Finance Study Group. 

Japanese banks, significant Asian and worldwide financial institutions, development banks, export credit agencies, and government agencies are also members and observers of the ATFSG. 

As a member of the ATFSG, PFC will represent India’s viewpoint while developing policy considerations for effective energy transition financing.
