NTPC Sipat Commemorates its 50th Anniversary 

NTPC Sipat-2980 MW – New Delhi: On January 28, 2022, the NTPC Sipat Super Thermal Power Station, located in Sipat, Bilaspur district, Chhattisgarh, will commemorate its founding. The power station is one of the NTPC’s coal-fired power facilities. 
 
The foundation stone for the NTPC Sipat power plant was placed on January 28, 2002, and it is now the largest power plant in Bilaspur, with a capacity of 2980 MW. It was built in two parts, the first of which was completed late and consisted of three 660 MW units using super-critical boiler technology, and the second of which consisted of two 500 MW units. On September 20, 2013, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh opened the Sipat Thermal Power Plant.
