NTPC Rihand Celebrates ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’ Initiative

NTPC Rihand

As part of its commitment to the nation and the environment, NTPC Rihand marked a momentous event. The “Meri Mati Mera Desh” festival, which was held with reverence and dedication, was a key milestone in instilling a feeling of responsibility for the nation and the world.

The event began with the solemn observation of the “Meri Mati Mera Desh” initiative, in which staff and participants pledged to defend and serve the nation with unflinching loyalty and honesty. The event also saw the administration of the “Panch Pran Pledge,” a passionate vow to uphold the ideals of truth, nonviolence, love, and service, as well as reiterating their dedication to societal welfare and advancement.

The installation of monuments honoring two visionary pioneers, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and Swami Vivekananda, was a significant occasion during the festivities. These monuments serve as enduring reminders of the principles and teachings provided by these remarkable individuals known as Prerna Sthal.  Their legacy inspires the community to strive for progress, inclusivity, equality, and holistic development.

Shri Sanjiv Kumar HOP (Rihand) expressed his excitement for the event, noting that the ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’ festival demonstrates our strong dedication to both our nation and the world. We hope that by unveiling the sculptures of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar and Swami Vivekanand and launching the ‘Amrit Vatika,’ we will commemorate the principles that shaped our country and demonstrate our commitment to a sustainable future.

NTPC Rihand opened the “Amrit Vatika” by planting a broad array of indigenous flora, in keeping with the company’s unwavering commitment to environmental care. This unique program demonstrates the organization’s commitment to sustainable practices and consistent support for environmental preservation. The “Amrit Vatika” is a living witness to the commitment to make a constructive contribution to the environment.

The ceremony was attended by distinguished guests, employees, and members of the community, all of whom were linked by their shared dedication to nation-building and environmental conservation.
