On the 125th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, NTPC Bongaigaon paid rich tributes to him at its premises today, January 23, 2022. Shri Subrata Mandal, ED, NTPC Bongaigaon, renamed the NTPC Bongaigaon Sports Complex Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Stadium to honor the great leader and to coincide with the 75th anniversary of India’s independence “Ajadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.” On the occasion, Shri T Ravinder, GM (O&M), Shri Umesh Singh, GM (FM & Maintenance), Shri D.P.Patra, GM (Operations), Ms. Sunitha Ravinder, Vice President, Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club, representatives of unions and associations, departmental heads and employees, as well as COVID protocols, were present.
Shri Subrata Mandal, Executive Director, spoke on the occasion about Netaji’s legacy and stature, as well as his life ideologies. He went on to say that his struggle for independence and charisma could not be articulated in words. The station’s senior management held a walkathon and the Sports Council held a cycling rally to commemorate the anniversary, both of which featured the popular motivating song “Kadam Kadam.”
Earlier, Shri Shashi Shekhar, AGM (HR), delivered the welcoming address, in which he remarked about Netaji’s continued inspiration to millions of Indians. His contributions and ideas will be remembered for a long time, he added.

NTPC Bongaigaon has also begun its week-long celebrations for Netaji’s birthday, which include numerous online competitions among staff such as essays, drawings, and painting, all of which are subject to COVID restrictions. The competition’s theme is “Netaji Subhash’s Contribution to the Freedom Movement.”
