NTPC Farakka organized Closing ceremony of GEM 2023

The Girl Empowerment Mission (GEM) 2023 concluded with a gala closing ceremony on June 25, 2023 at Rabindra Bhawan, NTPC Farakka, marking the end of a transforming journey for 118 young girls.

Distinguished visitors attended the occasion, including Chief Guest Shri DSGSS Babji, RED(ER1), and Guest of Honour Smt D Ratna Kumari, President Sujata Ladies Club, as well as Shri Ramakanta Panda, Head of Project Farakka, and Smt Niva Panda, President ULC.

The dignitaries lit the lamp, which was followed by the amazing GEM participants singing lovely NTPC geet. In his welcome remark, Shri Ramakanta Panda, HoP Farakka, emphasised the importance of the 28-day residential GEM programme as an excellent NTPC CSR project supporting national empowerment and promoting equity.

The event featured an aspirational musical performance, a screening of the GEM Farakka movie, engrossing self-defense demonstrations, exciting dance and yoga skill presentations, and a thought-provoking skit about Bal Vivah. NTPC female employees were honoured with International Women’s Day (IWD) honours.

The GEM girls discussed their transforming four-week experiences at Farakka, demonstrating their personal growth and empowerment. In his speech, Shri DSGSS Babji, RED(ER1) praised the GEM girls’ outstanding results and advised parents to continue supporting their daughters’ goals.

The ceremony culminated with the delivery of certificates recognising the participants’ devotion and accomplishments, followed by a sincere vote of appreciation.
