NLCIL Incorporates New Wholly-Owned Subsidiary NLC India Green Energy Limited

NLCIL – NLC India Limited, a Navratna Central Public Sector Undertaking based in Neyveli, Tamil Nadu, has established a new wholly-owned subsidiary called “NLC India Green Energy Limited” (NIGEL). 

NIGEL is currently implementing 2 GW of renewable energy projects, including a 600 MW solar power plant in Gujarat and an 810 MW solar photovoltaic power project in Rajasthan. NLCIL has already established a wholly-owned subsidiary, NLC India Renewables Limited, for asset monetisation.

“The newly-incorporated company will take care of planning, participating in upcoming RE tenders, tendering, execution, and commissioning of Renewable projects,” said Shri. Prasanna Kumar Motupalli, Chairman and Managing Director, NLCIL, on the occasion. 

“The subsidiary is expected to reach 5 GW capacity by 2030 and contribute to the reduction of carbon emissions,” he added.  

The registered office of the company is in Chennai, and it will begin operations in due time.
