NITI Aayog CEO reviews progress of Baramulla, Kupwara

Baramulla: Parameswaran Iyer, CEO of the National Institution for Transforming India (NITI Aayog CEO), paid a visit to the district of Baramulla today to assess firsthand the various development indicators and parameters identified under the federally funded “Aspirational Districts” programme (ADP), as well as to assess how other programmes are being implemented in the district and in Kupwara. 
 
The CEO was accompanied by Raghav Langer, Secretary, Planning, Development, and Monitoring Department, J&K, who is also the Prabhari Officer for Aspirational District Baramulla, and Rakesh Ranjan, Managing Director, Aspirational District Program (Govt. of India). 
 
The DC Baramulla gave the CEO a welcoming letter right away. She gave the chair a briefing on the district’s profile and the advancement made in accordance with the program’s requirements using a Power Point presentation.

The NITI Aayog CEO expressed satisfaction with the progress made so far while reviewing the performance of various departments. He then gave DC instructions to keep an eye on all ongoing development projects and complete any outstanding work in a timely manner. 
 
He also expressed his gratitude to the Baramulla District Administration for reaching important milestones in the Aspirational District Program. 
 
The operation of health and wellness facilities under the health and nutrition umbrella, as well as education, agriculture, the Jal Jeevan Mission, and other areas, were all thoroughly examined at the time. 
 
When discussing the successes in the health sector, the DC for Baramulla mentioned that 54 hospitals are to be transformed into health and wellness centres, for which a proposal has been submitted under the National Health Mission, in addition to 18 PHCs that are to be brought up to IPHC standards, for which demand has been anticipated under NHM/NITI Aayog. 
 
It was further stated that monies are anticipated under CSR for the improvement of health infrastructure.
