National Skill Development Corporation to empower retailers in U.P and Odisha together with Coca-Cola India

National Skill Development Corporation

Within a month of introducing the Skill India Digital platform, the Government of India is taking initiatives to empower individuals while actively using it. The National Skill Development Corporation has announced a partnership with Coca-Cola India to start the Super Power retailing Program under the Skill India Mission, with the goal of strengthening the retailing community, particularly in the states of Odisha and Uttar Pradesh. The program is currently being tested in the state of Odisha.

The partnership between NSDC and Coca-Cola India was formally announced this week in the presence of Union Minister for Education and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Dharmendra Pradhan; Ved Mani Tiwari, COO, NSDC; and Sanket Ray, CEO, Coca-Cola India.

Dharmendra Pradhan, speaking at the event, stated that the establishment of the Super Power Retailer will empower retailers and equip them with training to help them expand their businesses and improve consumer experiences. The project would play a critical role in improving India’s economy by skilling, reskilling, and upskilling retailers and will deliver 14 hours of quality retail training to the country’s 1.40 crore merchants via the Skill India Digital Portal, he added.

The retailers will be instructed on how to design and implement business plans, as well as how to take advantage of the tremendous potential provided by digital platforms, according to the minister. These training courses will be offered in numerous languages, allowing small shopkeepers as well as large businessmen across the country to participate.

The curriculum will provide industry-specific skills such as customer management, inventory and stock management, financial management, and so on that are customized to the professional demands of merchants, allowing them to become more proficient and knowledgeable.

The 14-hour course will include two hours of classroom instruction and 12 hours of online instruction. It will comprise actual classroom sessions as well as an app-based Learning Management System for online modules that will be available via mobile and handheld devices.

The Government of India established Skill India Digital in September of this year to improve access to quality skill development, relevant opportunities, and entrepreneurial support. This is a comprehensive digital platform that aims to synergize and alter India’s skills, education, employment, and entrepreneurship landscape.

Skill India Digital is the country’s digital public infrastructure for skilling, education, employment, and entrepreneurship. The cutting-edge platform accelerates skilled talent recruiting while facilitating lifelong learning and career promotion. It is driven by the objective of making skill development more inventive, accessible, and personalized in its embodiment, with a focus on digital technology and Industry 4.0 capabilities.

Skill India Digital began its journey with the goal of being user-friendly. It strives to reduce current barriers by providing an easy-to-use interface that can be adapted to multiple devices. This ensures that people from various backgrounds can easily access the platform, regardless of their technology.

Skill India Digital strives to overcome gaps in a country with many languages by supporting numerous Indian languages, fostering inclusion, and providing a diversified learning environment for all users.
