NABARD okays 113 projects worth in HP

Himachal Pradesh will get 113 projects worth Rs 609.54 crore from the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) of the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) in the 2022–23 fiscal year.

Under the RIDF, NABARD offers state governments concessional loans for the construction of essential infrastructure. The approved projects comprise 40 rural roads, four bridges, 26 drinking water delivery systems, 30 small irrigation projects, and 13 sewerage projects.

Amounts totaling about Rs 200.78 crore have been approved for 40 rural roads and four bridges. These funds will be used to build 103.65 km of new roads and upgrade and improve another 132.89 km of existing roads. 13 sewage projects totaling Rs 121.75 crore have been approved, benefiting 65,000 people. Additionally, 26 rural drinking water supply programmes totaling Rs 118.87 crore have been approved, benefiting 2.94 lakh people.

30 small irrigation projects totaling Rs 168.14 crore have been approved, benefiting 4541.85 hectares of agricultural land.
