Municipal corporation to set 10 foot over bridges

Municipal corporation – Around ten new foot over bridges (FOBs) will be built in various locations of the state capital soon. According to officials, a 42 MLD sewage treatment plant (STP) plant is also envisaged in Lucknow’s trans-Gomti as part of the smart city concept.  
 
“A design for ten more foot-over bridges was accepted as part of the smart city programme during a meeting on Friday.

This will make it easier for pedestrians to cross congested roads with high traffic,” said Ajay Dwivedi, the Lucknow municipal commissioner.

FOBs are recommended at Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital in Gomti Nagar, Indira Gandhi Pratishthan, Mithai Wala crossing, and Hahnemann Crossing. 
 
“After the location for foot-over bridges is finalized, the Public Works Department will issue a no objection certificate (NOC),” he added. 
 
He added that during the discussion, it was also discussed if the STP work in Gomti Nagar expansion could be given 
Instead of Jal Nigam, the task would be outsourced to another organization to ensure that it is completed on time. “However, a final decision could not be made on this,” officials said. 
 
The status of ongoing development projects was also discussed at the meeting, which was attended by divisional commissioner Ranjan Kumar. Kumar directed that all ongoing projects be completed on time.
