The UP government has approved a plan to establish Mukhyamantri Nagar Srijan Yojana in order to improve basic urban amenities. It will lay out the rules for enhancing, growing, and establishing new urban local bodies.
“Citizens in newly created or boundary enlarged regions will be given preferential access to the benefits of essential urban infrastructures including roads, parks, drainage, community halls, schools, Anganwadi centres, and power sector infrastructure,” stated Urban Development Minister AK Sharma.
He claimed that 191 urban areas that have grown since 2017 would first be included in this programme. The distribution of funds will follow the established methodology, which is based on the local population. According to the calculation, population will account for 90% of the total, with expanded areas accounting for 10%.
