Mitsubishi Electric India expands its sustainability activities

Mitsubishi Electric India, a renowned electric and electronic equipment manufacturer, continues its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives in Pune, in order to achieve its goal of creating a sustainable society for everybody.

The company’s CSR strategy is in line with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Indian government efforts. Skill Development, Good Health and Well-Being, Community Development, and Climate Action are the four categories in which the programmes have been classified.

Mitsubishi Electric India has donated and installed air conditioning at Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital, a government hospital in Pune, as part of its Community Development Program. Air conditioners were placed in the hospital’s Blood Storage Lab, Blood Bank, Plasma Donation Lab, and Sonography Room by the corporation.

The goal of this community development programme is to help the hospital’s infrastructure by providing a comfortable environment for convenient storage of medical test samples and better treatment facilities for the hospital’s patients.

The company’s CSR programme will go a long way toward improving healthcare facilities for the poorest members of society. Tomohiro Yoshida, Director of Mitsubishi Electric India Pvt. Ltd.’s FAID Division, led the hospital’s launch event.

“During the COVID-19 outbreak, Pune was affected with a high number of cases,” said Tomohiro Yoshida, Director of FAID Division, Mitsubishi Electric India Pvt. Ltd., speaking at the event. We learned the value of enhancing the healthcare system as a result of this experience. Air conditioners help to create a more sustainable and comfortable environment, which aids in the improvement of health infrastructures. We also assisted MIDC in supplying oxygen tankers to the Maharashtra government, which provided much-needed oxygen to all sections of the state.”

Mitsubishi Electric India’s CSR Initiative aims to support and improve the country’s social infrastructure. The company has been actively conducting CSR activities in Pune to help education, clean drinking water & sanitation, healthcare, and afforestation, among other sectors, with the goal of a brighter future.
