MIDHANI conducted Challenges in Aero Materials Workshop
On December 7, 2022, MIDHANI will host a one-day workshop on “Challenges in Aero Materials.” The workshop’s principal guest was Dr. G. Satheesh Reddy, Scientific Advisor to Raksha Mantri. In order to discuss opportunities in material developments for current and future aero engines, challenges and bottlenecks in material developments & certification for current and future aero engines, and advanced manufacturing technologies, delegates from designers, users, certification agencies, quality assurance agencies, research laboratories, manufacturers, and technocrats participated in the workshop.
Developed and used for aero engine material; Techniques or resources needed to enhance aerospace material manufacturing; R&D’s function in developing new materials; Indigenization of products for Indian aero programmes requires cooperative approaches and government policies; Metal specifications and their justification.

In addition to congratulating the MIDHANIans on their Golden Jubilee Year, the event’s chief guest, Dr. G. Satheesh Reddy, Scientific Advisor to Raksha Mantri, also recognised MIDHANI for its ongoing support of the Atmanirbhar Bharat Mission.
He has urged the respected house to carefully study and consider the materials needed and the difficulties to be faced so that India’s indigenous programme for engine and airframe development can get underway. He also suggested splitting the necessary material into two parts. One must be imported as a whole part, while the other is freely available in the market. In order to access the materials on the open market, India must be Atmnirbhar.
The chief guest, Dr. G. Satheesh Reddy, Scientific Advisor to Raksha Mantri, and all of the attendees from GTRE, ADA, HAL units, DMRL, CEMILAC, and DGAQA were welcomed by Dr. S. K. Jha, Chairman & Managing Director, MIDHANI. In his opening remarks, he discussed MIDHANI’s involvement in various strategic programs, the state of the expansion programme for products and equipment, and the difficulties with indigenously producing aeronautical materials. He also mentioned that MIDHANI will celebrate its golden anniversary in 2023.
