JioThings Smart Utility Platform, a leading Internet of Things (IoT) solution from JioThings, today announced a partnership with Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) and French electric utility firm EDF to utilise one million smart prepaid metres in Bihar.

JioThings Smart Utility Platform aims to accelerate the digital transformation of the power utilities sector and contribute to the Indian government’s goal of installing 250 million smart metres. According to the company, the initiative will enable automated metre reading and advanced metering infrastructure in India using prepaid and postpaid metering. This secure and scalable solution will ensure dependable data collection and real-time two-way communication, resulting in cost savings and a more seamless experience while improving collections and efficiencies and eliminating service delays.
