IÉSEG hires New Dean of Faculty and New Social and Environmental Impact Director
Following the appointment of Caroline ROUSSEL as the new dean of the school and the release of the new strategic plan “Inspire, Connect, Transform” for the years 2022–2027, IÉSEG has announced the immediate appointment of Elise MARESCAUX as dean of the faculty and Maria CASTILLO as director of social and environmental impact.
Elise MARESCAUX, a professor of human resources management and the department head of “People, Organizations and Negotiation,” has been named the dean of the faculty. She will answer directly to Caroline Roussel, IÉSEG’s new Dean, who she succeeds. Elise MARESCAUX will work closely with the department heads, programme directors, director of research, and director of pedagogy in her role as dean of faculty at IÉSEG.
Elise MARESCAUX, who is in charge of academic affairs, will lead the School’s permanent faculty and keep a close eye on its hiring, performance, development, and day-to-day operations. She will work closely with the Director of Research to support the implementation of the School’s research strategy in order to ensure a balance between the strategic pillars of the School, excellence in Teaching & Learning and excellence in IÉSEG Research.
IÉSEG
Elise MARESCAUX is an expert in several areas of human resource management and holds a Ph.D. in business economics from KU Leuven in Belgium (impact of training and development investments on employees and companies; management of employees in terms of performance, needs, and interests; negotiation and communication of idiosyncratic agreements, etc.). Since 2019 she has also served as the department’s head, for “People, Organizations, and Negotiation,” and since January 2022 she has served as the faculty’s deputy dean.
She will work with her team to ensure the cogent and cross-disciplinary integration of social, societal, and environmental issues – from a strategic perspective as well as in the School’s daily operations and their implementation by all services and departments. She will report directly to Caroline ROUSSEL, Dean of IÉSEG. To assess the effectiveness of those initiatives, the Direction will also keep an eye on the CSR key performance indicators.
On the level of the entire School, Maria CASTILLO and her team will closely collaborate with all of the School’s departments and services to implement the strategy in line with the School’s primary orientations around diversity, inclusion, disability, the environment, responsible campuses… and implement all necessary steps to accomplish the goals outlined in the strategic plan.
The establishment of a Well-Being Hub, the launch of a Climate Lab run by students, the bolstering of initiatives to better support students from disadvantaged social backgrounds, the increase in the granting of scholarships and honorary loans by the IÉSEG Foundation, and the creation of a network of Referents on Diversity and Inclusion are among the priority actions.
