Global Healthy Workplace Award

IndianOil is 1st Indian PSU to win the Global Healthy Workplace Award

Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IndianOil) has won the Global Healthy Workplace Award 2021 in the ‘Large Scale Industry’ category, making it the first Indian PSU to do so. The award recognises IndianOil’s consistent commitment to promoting excellent workplace health standards. The award also recognises the company’s substantial efforts to promote mental and physical well-being among its employees in order to foster a pleasant, positive, and productive workplace. The prize was presented during the 9th Global Healthy Workplace Summit, which took place on November 17th and 18th, 2021. Mr Shrikant Madhav Vaidya, Chairman-IndianOil, accepted the award on behalf of IndianOil in a special appreciation event held today on the digital platform. Mr Wolf Kristen and Mr Tommy Hutchinson, Co-Directors and Co-Founders, Global Centre for Sustainable Development, presented the prize.
Mr Shrikant Madhav Vaidya, speaking on the occasion, said, “I am grateful to the Global Center for Healthy Workplaces for recognising IndianOil’s long-term commitment to fostering a psychologically, physically, and emotionally healthy workplace. The award also recognises IndianOil’s commitment to meeting global standards in terms of on-the-job satisfaction. It is a memorable occasion for us, and I congratulate Team IndianOil on their achievement. The award will motivate us to go above and beyond in order to further reinforce the great working culture that has been built over decades of hard work “.
IndianOil’s caring face emerged as our most significant strength when we had to navigate through the deadliest epidemic the world has seen in millennia,” Mr Vaidya said, reflecting on the company’s increased focus on people’s health and wellness throughout the crisis. While the rest of the world came to a halt, our workers worked around the clock to guarantee that fuel was delivered to every corner of the country. However, we needed to assess and recognise the danger that our frontline workers were exposed to. To limit the spread of the virus and create a safe and healthy working environment, IndianOil stakeholders across the country had to work together.”
“To nurture a positive and productive workplace culture, we focus on both physical and mental wellbeing of our employees, their family members, stakeholders, and surrounding environment,” said Mr Ranjan Kumar Mohapatra, Director (HR), IndianOil.

Global Healthy Workplace Award

The Global Healthy Workplace Awards (GHWA) are the first international awards programme that recognises healthy workplaces, bringing together global health and wellness professionals. It focuses on the physical and psychosocial work environment, personal health resources, and enterprise community involvement, and is closely aligned with the WHO Healthy Workplace Model.
The Global Centre for Healthy Workplaces (GCHW) was established in 2012 to assist the growth of workplace health and wellness through a number of programmes aimed at improving shared learning, recognition, and replication. The centre aims to make working life healthier and more productive for all businesses and employees, regardless of their size, location, or circumstances.
