On the historic day of Gandhi and Shastri Jayanti, Collector & DM Jagatsinghpur Parul Patawari flagged off the Udyogi Samparka Abhijana, a special ‘Entrepreneurship Facilitation Van’, under ‘Swakalpa,’ the Govt of Odisha’s flagship entrepreneurship and skill development program.
Swakalpa is a self-employment and entrepreneurship development program envisioned by the Odisha Skill Development Authority (OSDA), managed by the World Skill Center (WSC), and implemented by Palladium. The program seeks to provide 10,000 motivated young people in Odisha with the necessary skills and knowledge for self-employment and entrepreneurship, as well as the formation of at least 1,000 micro-businesses. The program maintains committed to maintaining a minimum of 25% female representation at all stages.
To further the Swakalpa mission, the Udyogi Samparka Abhijana was launched with a branded campaign van that will travel across various regions. Beginning in Jagatsinghpur, the mobile van will go to other districts in Odisha, including Khordha on the 3rd and 4th of October, Nayagarh on the 5th and 6th, and Cuttack on the 7th. The van will visit candidates who have advanced to the mentee level through Swakalpa, as well as engage with other potential persons to spread the word about ‘Swakalpa.’ Palladium oversaw the event, which was carried out in partnership with partner Learnet Skills.
