CSR Welspun Foundation provides Medical Equipment to PHC in Vapi – Welspun Foundation for Health & Knowledge, the CSR arm of Welspun Group has been providing essential medical equipment to Primary Healthcare Centres (PHC) as a unit of its effort to combat Covid-19 in Vapi. With an objective of providing better health care facility, under the ‘Village Connect’ project Welspun Foundation reached bent five Primary Health Centres in Morai, Vatar, Kunta, and Balitha to supply the latest medical equipment within the presence of Village Sarpanch, Deputy Sarpanch, Chief Health Officers and staff in each center.
As a worldwide crisis, the Covid-19 pandemic has been posing unprecedented challenges to the procurement and delivery of essential medical supplies and equipment everywhere India, especially in smaller districts and deep interiors of the country. Taking cognizant of the pressing need, Welspun provided HB meter and HB strips to assess anemia, a digital weighing scale to trace the nutrition of pregnant women and new mothers also as a digital weighing scale to trace malnutrition in infants.
The CSR team was also given center-specific requirements like vital sign monitor, glucometer to live sugar levels, centrifuge, stethoscope, examination table alongside thermal guns, and oximeter to assist screening of corona cases. Additionally, the organization has also undertaken efforts to refurbish the Kunta Primary Sub-Healthcare Centre.
Speaking about this CSR initiative, Dipali Goenka, Trustee, Welspun Foundation said, “As a responsible corporate we’ve always worked closely with government bodies to assist them within the hour of need. Our village contact program to supply essential medical equipment is an extension of our efforts to combat Covid-19, and that we will still contribute to assist communities’ healthcare and wellness.”
