Coal India Ltd Production Goes up to 51.44 Million Tonne

7th October 2023 – Coal India Ltd Production – The Ministry of Coal achieved a significant rise in overall coal output during the month of September 2023, reaching 67.21 million tonnes (MT), surpassing the previous year’s records of 58.04 MT, representing a 15.81% gain.  

Coal India Limited (CIL) production increased by 12.63% to 51.44 MT in September 2023, up from 45.67 MT in September 2022. The cumulative coal production (up to September 2023) increased by 12.06% to 428.25 MT in FY’23-24, compared to 382.16 MT in FY’22-23. 

Furthermore, coal dispatch increased significantly in September 2023, reaching an outstanding 70.33 MT, demonstrating great advancement over the 61.10 MT recorded in September 2022, with a growth rate of 15.12%. 

At the same time, Coal India Limited (CIL) dispatch displayed exceptional performance, reaching 55.06 MT in September 2023, up from 48.91 MT in September 2022, a 12.57% increase.

The Cumulative Coal Dispatch (up to September 2023) increased by 10.96% to 462.32MT in FY’ 23-24 from 416.64MT during the same time in FY’ 22-23. 

The coal industry has experienced exceptional growth, with output, dispatch, and stock levels reaching new highs. This unprecedented growth can be ascribed to Coal PSUs’ continuous dedication, which has played a critical role in generating this extraordinary progress. This demonstrates the effectiveness of the coal supply network, ensuring the continuous distribution of coal across the country.
