CIL Chairman addresses World Mining Congress meeting
World Mining Congress meeting – The 103rd International Organizing Committee or World Mining Congress meeting was addressed by Shri. Pramod Agrawal, Chairman, Coal India Limited, in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
The Indian Coal Sector, Its Achievements, and Opportunities were the topics of Shri. Agrawal’s speech. It has been conceivable to increase the All India coal production to 716.08 million tonnes in 2020–21 through a consistent investment programme and a higher emphasis on the deployment of current technologies (Provisional). The total coal production in India for 2021–22 was 777.31 MT (Provisional), an increase of 8.55 percent.
World Mining Congress meeting
In 2020–21, Coal India Limited (CIL) and its subsidiaries produced 596.219 million tonnes, a decrease of 0.98 percent from the 602.129 million tonnes produced in 2019–20. The amount of coal produced by CIL in 2021–22 was 622.640 MT(Provisional), representing a rise of 4.43 percent.
The main supplier of coal to the south is Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL). In contrast to the 64.044 million tonnes produced over the same period previous year, the company produced 50.580 million tonnes of coal during 2020–21. SCCL produced 65.021 MT of coal between 2021 and 2022, a positive growth of 28.55 percent. Other companies including TISCO, IISCO, DVC, and others also manufacture small amounts of coal.
