Centers of Excellence gets financial support from institutions

Centers of Excellence – According to the directive of the National Policy for Rare Diseases (NPRD), 2021, the Department of Health and Family Welfare has created a digital portal for crowdfunding and voluntary donations for patients with rare diseases. The URL for the Digital Portal is https://rarediseases.nhp.gov.in/. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has requested that the Department of Revenue register a crowdfunding portal for rare diseases under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act.

Centers of Excellence

Financial assistance for the care of 120 people with rare diseases has been made available under the provisions of the NPRD, 2021. Centers of Excellence (CoEs) can receive funding from other institutions, pharmaceutical companies, and the corporate sector as part of a CSR programme by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with them.
