CBSE to introduce coding and AI for 6-8 class

From classes 6 to 8, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will incorporate coding and artificial intelligence (AI) to boost skill education.

To encourage skill education, the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020 includes artificial intelligence. Subjects such as coding will also be taught at an early age as a result of this. Along with these, the board will introduce data science to students in grade 8 and ‘things you should know about keeping medicines at home’ to students in grade 6.

Artificial intelligence, financial literacy, coding, data science, augmented reality, Kashmiri embroidery, satellite application, humanism, and Covid-19 are among the 33 courses selected by the board. These modules range in length from 12 to 15 hours. The schools have been informed that 70% of the time spent on these topics must be spent on hands-on activities and 30% on theory.

Microsoft will create the coding curriculum

In 2020, the Education Ministry issued a new education strategy that included several improvements in school education as well as higher education, including technical education.

According to the policy, it was recognized that mathematics and mathematical thinking would be highly crucial for India’s future and India’s leading role in a variety of fields.
