BSL enters into MoA with ALIMCO

SAIL-BSL has signed an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) worth Rs 1 crore with Artificial Limbs Corporation of India (ALIMCO) as part of their CSR drive in order to organize a massive camp for Divyanjans and senior citizens on December 3, 2022, which is recognized as World Handicapped Day. In the presence of BSL’s ED (P&A) Sanjay Kumar, ED (F&A) Suresh Rangani, and other senior officers, representatives from the two organizations signed the Memorandum of Agreement. Under the terms of this agreement, BSL-CSR and ALIMCO will provide senior citizens and recipients of the Divyangjan programme in the outlying villages of the Bokaro Steel Plant with a variety of assistive gadgets worth a total of Rs. 1 crore.

ALIMCO and BSL

An assessment camp will be held by BSL-CSR in collaboration with ALIMCO & their expert team between November 15 and 20, 2022, based on the names registered with the Jan Prathinidhis, to determine the precise needs and requirements of Divyangjan & Senior Citizens. On December 3, 2022, a MEGA CAMP will be held to provide assistive equipment to identified senior citizens and Divyangjan after requirements are taken during the assessment camp.

It is noteworthy that Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO) is a Schedule ‘C’ Miniratna Category II Central Public Sector Enterprises, registered under Section 8 (Not for Profit Motive) of the Companies Act 2013, and that it is 100% owned by the Government of India. Its mission is to benefit people with disabilities as much as possible by producing rehabilitation aids for people with disabilities and by promoting accessibility to public spaces. The Corporation’s main focus is on offering higher-quality Aids & Appliances to more disabled people at affordable prices, with profitability not being the primary driver of its operations.
