Bry-Air conducts the 13th Biannual Eye Camp to support underprivileged people

New Delhi, 5th December, 2023 – Bry-Air  is hosting the 13th Biannual Eye Camp to help underprivileged people with vision problems.

Bry-Air, the flagship company of the Pahwa Group, held its 13th Biannual Eye Camp in Moga, Punjab, as part of its commitment to improving lives through CSR activities. On December 3rd, the camp was held at Mathra Das Civil Hospital in collaboration with a local NGO partner, Bhartiya Jagriti Manch.

More than 2500 people from the villages of Singha Wala, Naar Khote, Sapu Wala, Tareywala, Budh Singh Wala, Chadek, Malinwala, Khote Patti Mohabbat, Marion, Ramu Wala Kalam, and Moga district visited the camp. During the camp, 104 people were identified as having a need for cataract surgery. As part of the initiative, 1200 medicines and 300 spectacles were distributed to camp attendees at no cost.

In the presence of Indu Puri, the 13th Biannual Eye Camp was jointly inaugurated by Sanjeev Saini, Chairman, Blooming Buds School, Moga, and Anandita Pahwa, Head-CSR Pahwa Group. Along with this, Dr. Amandeep Kaur Arora, MLA, Moga, and other prominent Moga residents were present at the camp.

The camp has been organized by the company since 2012 as a tribute to Rai Bahadur Dr. Mathra Das Pahwa. Dr. Pahwa performed over 500,000 surgeries during his career. In addition, his tireless work as a philanthropist in the field of vision, particularly cataract surgery for the underprivileged, earned him the title of Netra-Dev (God of Eyes).

Carrying on his legacy of charitable work for the underprivileged in the field of vision and cataract surgery, the company has organized 115 eye camps and treated approximately 40228 people over the years. During this time, 3269 people were successfully treated for cataracts, with 24991 free spectacles and 31623 free medicines distributed.
