BPCL receives Supply Chain Leadership Award
Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, India’s “best performing” Maharatna Public Sector Undertaking and the country’s second-largest energy PSU, was named the winner of the “Best-In-Class Cross-Functional Collaboration” category in the 14th edition of the ELSC (Express, Logistics and Supply Chain) Supply Chain Leadership Award today, September 12, 2022, in Mumbai.
Team SCO was presented with the Award at the Taj Lands End in Mumbai during the 14th Edition of the ELSC Leadership Awards.
Mr. R. Sreekumar, Chief General Manager I/C (SCO), spoke at the event and stated, “We at BPCL are thrilled to get this award as we follow the moto “Work hard in silence, let success make the noise.” With the help of the integrated Aspentech Multi-Refinery M-PIMS Model, we have adopted a visionary strategy that goes beyond the standard approach of separate procurement and distribution (MPIMS- Multi Process Industry Modeling System). Optimization using MPIMS provides a bird’s eye view of the entire process and illustrates the opportunities for precisely coordinating crude purchase with product demand.
Supply Chain Leadership Award
A conference with a leadership focus on supply chain and procurement strategy improvement is called the Supply Chain Summit. It provides a yearly forum for discussion and collaboration on how new technologies and market dynamics will affect supply chain and operations professionals in the present and the future.
For the Supply Chain Optimization (SCO) team, finding the ideal crude mix for each refinery, maintaining the continuous supply of petroleum products, and improving refinery economics is a challenging task.
