Going Green: Birla Carbon releases 11th Sustainability Report

Birla Carbon, a major manufacturer and supplier of high-quality carbon black solutions, has published its 11th annual sustainability report, titled Share the Future. 

The 2023 report emphasizes the company’s goal to attaining net zero carbon emissions by 2050 by significant improvements in ContinuaTM Sustainable Carbonaceous Material (SCM) and prioritizing the 4Rs approach of Research, Reduce, Replace, and Repurpose.

The report’s main points – 

72% of waste was repurposed, reducing the amount of waste sent to landfills; 

Refinancing existing debts through a US$750 million loan tied to sustainability performance; and 73,000 tonnes of ContinuaTM SCM will eliminate 228,000 tonnes of direct and indirect CO2 emissions annually upon completion of our partner’s new facility.
