Bharat Electronics Limited and IAI have signed an agreement to explore potential in the sector of Short Range Air Defence Systems. Navratna Defence Services PSU Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) and Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), Israel’s largest aerospace and defense corporation, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to work together to meet India’s needs in the field of Short Range Air Defence Systems.
The MoU was signed yesterday in Bengaluru by Mr K V Suresh Kumar, Director (Marketing), BEL, and Mr Avi Elisha, VP and General Manager, Missile Systems Division, IAI, in the presence of Mr Bhanu Prakash Srivastava, CMD, BEL.
The collaboration is yet another key step toward solidifying the synergy between the two organizations, who have a long history of collaboration. BEL and IAI are working together on numerous collaborative development/production/product support programs for the Indian armed services.

The MoU aims to use IAI and BEL’s capabilities and is in line with the Government of India’s ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ and ‘Make in India’ initiatives.
“BEL considers IAI, Israel, as a key strategic partner,” stated Mr Bhanu Prakash Srivastava, CMD of BEL. This MoU is intended to strengthen the two firms’ collaboration in the field of Short Range Air Defence Systems. It will enable Indian industry to contribute significantly to equipping our forces with cutting-edge Short Range Air Defence Systems.”
