Through their new CSR initiative BEST: Bajaj Engineering Skills Training, Bajaj Auto, the world’s most valuable two-wheeler and three-wheeler company, has made a significant commitment to transforming the lives of India’s youth by providing them with best-in-class manufacturing skills training.
Bajaj Auto will collaborate with India’s premier universities and engineering institutions to establish cutting-edge laboratories that will increase the hands-on skills of thousands of young people, assisting them in becoming competent and employable. The training facilities will give advanced skill training to engineering graduates (both degrees and diplomas) and will help alleviate the manufacturing industry’s skill shortage.
Bajaj Auto will provide these training institutions with cutting-edge equipment sourced from around the world. Bajaj Auto would finance the operational expenses in the beginning of the scheme and gradually encourage these facilities to become financially self-sufficient over time.
“Every year, more than 12 million people enter the workforce,” stated Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director of Bajaj Auto Limited, of the programme. However, due to rapid technological advances, there is a significant gap between university and industry in preparing the youth for employment. With a history of giving back to society, we are excited to unveil our flagship CSR project, which will help to bridge this gap.”

The training will be divided into four sections: (1) Mechatronics, (2) Motion Control and Sensor Technology, (3) Robotics and Automation, and (4) Industry 4.0 and Smart Manufacturing.
The courses will provide learners with the necessary skills, information, practise (hands-on training), and mindset to be job ready. The curriculum will be in line with the National Occupational Standards (NOSs) of the sector’s job positions.
“BEST (Bajaj Engineering Skills Training) has already partnered with some of India’s top institutes to train engineering graduates with cutting-edge skills,” said Pradeep Shrivastava, Executive Director-Bajaj Auto Ltd. The labs and programming design were created by a group of Bajaj Auto senior management and engineers, demonstrating our dedication to this effort. We look forward to working with industry and academia to bring this programme to the deserving young of India.”
During the launch phase, Bajaj Auto cooperated with Banasthali Vidhyapeeth in Tonk, Rajasthan (Asia’s largest women’s university with an NIRF score of 58) and Symbiosis International University in Pune, Maharashtra (one of the respected educational institutions with an NIRF ranking of 32). It will shortly be expanded.
