On Tuesday, September 19, 2023, AU Small Finance Bank (AU SFB) celebrated the fifth anniversary of AU Ignite, a skills training school as part of AU SFB’s CSR initiatives.
Dr.Krishnakant Pathak, IAS, Rajasthan cadre, was the Chief Guest at the event. He is the Secretary of the Rajasthan Government’s Finance and Revenue Department.
AU Skills Academy was established in Jaipur in 2018 with the belief that developing the skills of underprivileged youth is a critical area of intervention and the intention of improving the living standards of the marginalised sections of society to deliver relevant and practical training to the marginalised youth across Rajasthan. It aims to provide appropriate skills to the country’s underprivileged young in order to bridge the skills gap and support economic development.
AU Skills Academy began as a pilot project with a focus on Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) and has since expanded to include Sales and Marketing, Customer Relationship Management, Tourism and Hospitality, Office Assistance, Health, and Information Technology Enabled Services (ITES). AU Skills Academy was renamed AU Ignite-Unlocking You in 2021 after becoming a Centre of Excellence Program. Students enrolled in AU Ignite receive training in specialized life skills such as communication, finance, personality development, and core employability skills, which will assist them in adapting to a structured work environment.

“Taking the AU SFB’s ethos of bringing wellbeing to all sections of society, we wanted to keep the focus of our CSR initiatives in the area which would impact and uplift the living standards of the marginalised sections, thereby giving them an opportunity to be a part of the developing India,” said Sanjay Agarwal, MD, AU Small Finance Bank. We are overjoyed to have made significant progress and to be celebrating the fifth anniversary of AU Ignite, our flagship program aimed at teaching vital skills to adolescents and empowering them to improve their living conditions.
