Apollo Tyres Opens Digital Innovation Hub in UK

Apollo Tyres, a leading tyre manufacturer, has announced the opening of its Digital Innovation Hub in London. The Innovation Hub will leverage Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning technologies to tackle complex production challenges as part of the Company’s digital strategy to implement Industry 4.0, with an emphasis on increasing the efficiency, quality, and sustainability of its manufacturing methods. As part of the UK Government policy, the hub is collaborating with Glasgow University and developing an ongoing internship programme for STEM students (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths).

The news comes only days before Boris Johnson’s visit to India, during which the two countries would discuss trade and economic cooperation.

“This visit is regarded highly essential for post-Brexit UK-India relations,” said Neeraj Kanwar, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Apollo Tyres Ltd. Our London office is the nerve centre of a $2.5 billion global company with 20,000 workers all across the world. In the UK alone, we employ over 130 people across six business units ranging from sophisticated manufacturing to new technologies, artificial intelligence, and digital freight.

Apollo Tyres growth plan

Apollo Tyres’ five-year growth plan, which includes considerable investments in technology and cloud infrastructure, resulted in the creation of the Innovation Hub. The Digital Innovation Hub’s strategic digital applications are being developed and architected in the United Kingdom, with London-based specialists assisting with complicated application development.

“Trade and investment between the UK and India is creating excellent jobs and maintaining livelihoods in both of our countries,” UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson stated. I’m delighted that Apollo Tyres has opted to join the thousands of Indian companies who have invested in the UK, bolstering our technological industry and driving economic progress.”
