Accenture in India has strengthened its commitment to environmental sustainability by introducing electric vehicles in its transportation fleet to offer climate-smart travel options for its people in four locations: Bengaluru, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and the National Capital Region.  Over 200 electric vehicles are being added to Accenture’s fleet in India, allowing the corporation to decrease its carbon footprint even further.

The effort is in line with Accenture’s global goal to generate concrete environmental change and manage sustainable operations, such as achieving net-zero emissions by the end of 2025, transitioning to zero waste, and anticipating water risk.

“We embed sustainability into everything we do, with everyone we work with, creating both business value and sustainable impact,” stated Ajay Vij, Country Managing Director, Accenture in India. The addition of electric vehicles to our fleet will provide climate-smart mobility options for our people in India, as well as strengthen our commitment to conducting sustainable company operations and attaining our net zero emissions objective.

Accenture has already reached a renewable electricity mix of over 99% in its offices by 2022, and had reused or recycled 100% of its e-waste relating to PCs and workstations in India. Accenture also assists its clients throughout the world in embracing sustainability as a competitive advantage, and it conducts applied research in new technologies to solve sustainability concerns.
