Kolhapur Airport

Kolhapur: The Airport Authority of India’s Kolhapur Airport will soon spread its wings of development, including the construction of a New Terminal Building, the extension of the Runway, and the development of a New Apron and Parking Bay, all for a visionary investment of Rs 256 Crores.

The Kolhapur Airport has been designated for RCS operations under the UDAN plan and will soon exude the sense of growth and connection.

After completion, the 3900 sqm Terminal Building will be able to service 300 passengers during peak operational hours.

The current Kolhapur Airport commenced operations in 1987 and was leased by the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) from the Airports Authority of India (AAI) on April 16, 1997.

The lease expired in February 2012, and the MIDC asked the state government in May 2012 to be released of the task of administering the airport. The Maharashtra government then turned over the airport to the AAI in August 2013.
