SJVN’s 25th Inter CPSU Carrom Tournament

Under the auspices of the Power Sports Control Board, Ministry of Power, Government of India, SJVN is hosting the 25th Inter CPSU Carrom Tournament. In the august presence of Sh. Sushil Sharma, Director (Electrical), and Sh. Prem Prakash, Chief Vigilance Officer, Sh. A.K Singh, Director (Finance) SJVN today inaugurated the tournament at Hotel Holiday Home, Shimla. 
 
Sh. A.K Singh, speaking at the event’s opening ceremony, said that SJVN is honoured to host the ICPSU Carrom Tournament on such short notice. He noted that SJVN has always aimed to promote sports, and that this tournament will assist the players in honing their competitive spirits and analytical minds while also demonstrating sportsmanship.

Inter CPSU Carrom Tournament

The event has twenty-one teams (men and women) from the Ministry of Power, CEA, and nine PSUs, including REC, Powergrid, NHPC, THDC, BBMB, PFC, POSOCO, NEEPCO, and SJVN. The event will end on June 17, 2022, with a closing ceremony. The Carrom Tournament is being organized by SJVN in collaboration with the Uttaranchal Carrom Association. During the tournament, the Indian Carrom Federation’s rules would be followed. 
 
In his welcome remark, Executive Director (HR), Sh. S. Patnaik wished all the participants to demonstrate sportsmanship and give their all during the tournament matches. 
 
The Power Sports Control Board (PSCB) is a sports board established by Central Power Sector Undertakings (CPSU) and supported by the Ministry of Power, Government of India, to promote sports. This Board currently has 12 CPSUs, the Central Electricity Authority, and the Ministry of Power as members.
